🇪🇨 The Ecuadorian Portal & The Leo Eclipse: A Personal Nodal Journey
I wanted to drop in and share the deeper, personal layer of my recent three-week journey in Ecuador—a trip that was nothing short of a life-changing passageway on my path.
I spent time high on a sacred mountain connected to the Ayapuma tribe: Taita Imbabura—a massive, ancient volcano standing in silent power across from Cotopaxi. Looking at my chart, I knew astrologically that this trip was going to be a major threshold, but living it was an experience beyond what words can capture.
In this blog there is a link to a YouTube video where I share in greater detail what I experienced or you can read the summary of it here in this article.
⌛ Sitting in My Nodal Return at 36
Right now, I am moving through my Nodal Return—a powerful astrological rite of passage that occurs once every 18 years. At 36, I am stepping into this cycle for the second time in my life.
My personal nodal axis sits with my South Node in Leo at 9 degrees and my North Node in Aquarius at 9 degrees.
The Synchronicity: My teacher, Bronco, who holds the exact inverse configuration (South Node Aquarius / North Node Leo). He invited me to participate in a deep shamanic Vision Quest in Ecuador.
The World Shift: Over the coming year, the South Node in Leo will hit Jupiter three times due to its retrograde, while the North Node in Aquarius will make a rare contact with Pluto—an event that only happens roughly every 30 years. This Pluto-North Node activation marks a massive, world-changing period unfolding over several months.
I knew karmically that big things were brewing, but meeting Bronco and stepping onto Taita Imbabura gave me absolute clarity on the work I am here to do.
🌋 The 158-Year Echo: Earthquake, Isolation & The Leo Eclipse
The timing of this Vision Quest was pure divine design. We went up the mountain in August right in the heart of Leo season—activating both my South Node and Bronco’s North Node—aligned perfectly with the Leo Solar Eclipse.
At 10,000 feet elevation directly on the equator, we were physically standing closer to the Sun. On the third day of my dry fast in complete isolation and under a vow of silence, I woke up to the earth literally rocking beneath me. It felt like riding waves on a paddleboard as an earthquake struck just across the valley on August 10th.
At the end of my 4 nights and 5 days of isolation, us first-year Vision Questers were brought down to base camp, stepping straight into a sweat lodge ceremony right as the Solar Eclipse reached its exact peak.
The eclipse activated Bronco’s North Node and Uranus in Leo, while firing up my South Node alongside Jupiter. My entire life has been a steady, natural evolution toward shamanism and healing—never forcing indigenous practices, but trusting that when the student is ready, the right teacher appears.
🌌 High-Altitude Synchronicities & The Observatory Discovery
After coming down from Taita Imbabura, the magic only intensified while exploring Quito:
The Zodiac Obelisk: Walking through a park, I stumbled upon a monument featuring a massive condor atop an obelisk surrounded by the signs of the Zodiac. As I stood absorbing it, a stranger approached for a brief, intense conversation before disappearing just as quickly.
The Astronomical Portal: I visited an observatory built in 1873—the first and only observatory constructed directly on the Earth’s equator, founded by Jesuit Father Johannes Baptist Menten. Standing among 150-year-old cartography tools, operational weather stations, and ancient telescopes with moving observer chairs aligned to the equator, I felt a deep, undeniable past-life resonance. I knew I had worked there before.
👁️ An Unmistakable Cosmic Mirror
It was inside that observatory where the true weight of time revealed itself. I came across historical records of a catastrophic 7.2/7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Taita Imbabura on August 15–16, 1868.
When I pulled up the astrological data for 1868, my jaw dropped:
[ AUGUST 1868 ] [ AUGUST 2026 ]
Solar Eclipse: 25° Leo Solar Eclipse: 20° Leo
Neptune Placement: Aries Neptune Placement: Aries
Location: Taita Imbabura Location: Taita Imbabura
Event: Seismic Realignment Event: Seismic Realignment
The last time the Nodes sat on the Leo/Aquarius axis with a Solar Eclipse in Leo and Neptune in Aries was 158 years ago—and it triggered a massive seismic event on the exact same mountain, Taita Imbabura.
To sit in isolation on that very same peak during the exact cosmic alignment 158 years later, feeling the earth shake beneath my body during a Leo Solar Eclipse, was an echo of time speaking directly to my spirit. It was a physical and spiritual initiation so precise, so undeniable, that it anchored my path forever.
When time stops and the universe mirrors itself across centuries, you know you are exactly where you are meant to be. 👁️✨
